Winter Must Have: Fur Vests

Fur vests are a staple item for the Winter.  They are a chic addiction to any ensemble which adds instant sophistication and class.  You can pair your vest with a casual frock or skinny jeans and booties to dress them up.  The fur vest (be it real or faux) is a huge trend this year, so you can find them virtually anywhere for a reasonable price.  I have decided to get my family heirloom fox fur re-styled into a vest so standby for pics from that project!

DSQUARED² Spring Summer 2014 RTW

Those identical twins Dan and Dean are giving us 50's housewife on vacation in Cancun for next Spring and Summer. They've combined black and white looks with bright purples, oranges, yellows, and hues of blue in addition to neutrals with pops of gold. This versatile collection doesn't skimp on the skin or the patterns with varied textures and embellishments. There are pieces for lunch dates, the red carpet, and/or a casual summer stroll in the park. The anticipation for which starlet will be the first to dawn one of their adorable frocks is killing me. Classic silhouettes updated with fresh colors and fabrics will surely be a favorite of the celebs next year. Here are some faves.

Christopher Bailey presented the English Rose Burberry Prorsum Collection in London today. The Spring/Summer 2014 collection is filled with pastels, lace, and romance with a bit of an edge. Understated sex appeal and confidence permeate the collection. 

Michael Kors S/S 2014

Michael Kors' Spring/Summer line is American sportswear defined. The pieces are realistically wearable and many can be translated into Fall/Winter wear. Here are some favorites.

In an age where it seems that everyone's focus is on pushing the fashion envelope by being edgy, it was so refreshing to see a line with such a feminine, classic aesthetic. Dennis Basso's Spring 2014 line modernized what we typically deem to be classic style. It was such a pleasure volunteering at his show and seeing his dazzling personality. At the close of the show he came out and walked the runway singing along to "This Could Be the Start of Something Big" and greeting some of the attendees with a sincere smile. Lindsay Lohan on Oprah's Next Chapter

Everyone loves a good comeback story and Lindsay Lohan fans have been patiently awaiting hers. The starlet sat down for an interview with Oprah on Sunday dawning a healthier and happier appearance than we've seen in a while. Her fitted orange dress was complimented by black and white polka dot pumps and her hair was pulled back in a simple ponytail with natural makeup. Hopefully we'll get to see more great looks from her as she embarks on her journey to redemption and recovery. 

InStyle Essentials

One of the key garments in your wardrobe should be a crisp white button down. This is a majorly multi functional piece, but the fit is the key. However, it's definitely a struggle to find one that doesn't pull, lack stretch, tuck in properly, etc. InStyle magazine has come up with Trio Fit Technology which promises a perfect fit making the staple garment easier to style and work into your wardrobe. I'm most excited about the fact that they are sized according to your bra size (32B-40F) so you're ensured an accurate fit. They have three different styles so far, and I'll be making the $59 investment soon so that I can let you guys know if it's everything I'm hoping it will be. 

                           

Fashion Event: Cocktails With Claire

I had the pleasure of attending Cocktails With Claire on Tuesday. The event was hosted by The Fashion Bomb Daily's Claire Sulmers. Attendees included some of Atlanta's most stylish fashion enthusiasts from bloggers to stylists to boutique owners. It was a great networking opportunity and I met some really cool people!
